Olanrewaju Fasisi, popularly known as Sound Sultan, was one of the pioneers of modern-day hip hop music in Nigeria.

Sound Sultan, until his death on the 11th of June 2021, was one of the most humble artists in the entertainment industry.

Following his death, Nigerians and music lovers across the globe have been left in shock as to his death, with many refusing to believe.

The singer’s death is coming barely a few days after the death of one of singer Davido’s aide, Obama DMW.

Following the death of Sound Sultan, we have come up with 5 things you should know about him.

1. He was versatile

Sound Sultan was a rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, comedian and recording artist.

2. His hit single “Jagbajantis”, released in 2000, brought him to the limelight. And the song to date remains evergreen as it speaks about the situation of the country.

3. He was signed to Kennis Music label but his contract expired in 2007, after which he partnered with Baba Dee to start Naija Ninjas.

4.  He graduated from Lagos State University, where he bagged a degree in Geography and Regional Planning; that was in 1999.

5. Sound Sultan married his long-term girlfriend Chichi Morah now known as Farida Fasasi in 2009 and they were blessed with three children.
