Monica Turners Biography

She was born in 1967 John Turner and Maebell Steele in the neighbourhood of Petworth in Northwest Washington DC, in the US.

Her family happens to be a comfortable one as her father was an attorney, and her mother worked as a scout’s executive.

 She is the elder sister to Michael Steele, who was a former lieutenant governor of Maryland who held the position for four years between 2003 – 2007. 

Education

While there are no details about her childhood, the only educational institution on her profile revealed she graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Medicine in 1995 and then specialised as a paediatrician.

Career: 

After graduation, she kicks started her career at the Georgetown University Medical Centre as a pediatric resident. She helped many who needed medical assistance during her career.
Relationship with Mike Tyson
According to the Sun report, Mike Tyson and Monica Turners met in 1990 at a party in New Jersey, United States, hosted by actor and comedian Eddie Murphy.
Tyson, at that time, was married to his first wife and actress, Robbin Givens, with their relationship coming to an end after one year.
After seeing each other a few more times, Monica and Tyson started dating and kept their relationship silent.
However, two years into their relationship, the Boxer was convicted for r*pe and was sentenced to six years in jail and four-year probation. He was sentenced and convicted in 1992 but was released in March 1995 after serving three years in prison.
While Tyson was in jail, Monica Turner would visit him at least every two weeks to check on him; this further helped build their bond.
However, on the 19th of April 1997, they got married in a quiet Muslim ceremony.

A year after their marriage, the veteran boxer was again convicted. This time, he was accused of assaulting two motorists and was sentenced to one year in prison in August 1998 and was released in February 1999.
In 2000, Monica filed for divorce as she claimed that Tyson was unfaithful and had cheated on her.
She revealed the boxer rarely spent his time at home and was a womaniser and spendthrift spending most of his money on women, cars and other valuable possessions.
After three years of going back and forth, they were officially divorced in 2003. Monica was awarded $10 million as a divorce settlement, including a luxury estate in Farmington and the Bethesda Home, with the two houses reportedly worth $8.75 million.
