Gunmen abduct Village head and wife in Ibadan

A village head in Ibadan and his wife were reportedly abducted on Tuesday night in Ibadan area of Oyo state.

The reports revealed that the gunmen stormed Araromi, which is a village in Bakatari area of Ibadan.

Following their attack at the village, they went away with Chief Tafa Apanpa, who is the Baale of Araromi and his wife.

Bakatari is a town along the Ibadan-Abeokuta Road which means it is a border town between Oyo and Ogun states.

As at the time of this report, the abducted victims have not been found.

The Public Relations Officer of Oyo state Police command, Mr Adewale Osifeso has also confirmed the incident as he revealed effort were in already in place for them to regain their release.

He said, “The incident happened very late on Tuesday, 22nd of June, 2021at ARARO village.

“Efforts are in top gear to rescue both victims and as well apprehend the abductors, please.”
