Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, reveals that despite the Nigerian government’s alleged effort to cripple his tenure of governance of the state, he has delivered.
Wike added that he could walk throughout Rivers State without any security personnel because his tenure as a governor of the state has been lauded by the fulfillment of his and the party’s, PDP, promises to the state.
He affirmed this during the inauguration of the Government House Clinic and administrative Building in Port Harcourt.
“I have not disappointed the people of Rivers State, and I have not disappointed the party that gave me the privilege to contribute my own quota to the development of the state. But for politics, I don’t think there will be a need for any Rivers man or woman to think of any other party.”
Wike opined that following his election in 2015, the Nigeran government released several forces with the primary forces to render his administration useless.
He also recalled how his election was annulled by the tribunal in the Appeal Court, adding that divine intervention, the Supreme Court reversed the ruling and confirmed him as the winner of the 2015 governorship elections.
Wike further speaks on how the National Assembly and State House Assembly were also thrashed, and fresh elections were conducted, but the PDP still emerge as the winner.
“I know what we passed through in the hands of the ruling government. No state government has been harassed like Rivers State government, not one, but I will never give up. I will continue to do what I think is for the best interest of the people of Rivers State because they gave me the privilege,” he said.
