Students and teachers abducted by gunmen in Government Science College Kagara, Niger State, have regained their freedom.
The abductees include 27 students, three staff of GCS, and 12 members of their family, all of whom have reportedly been released.
According to reports, the abducted persons were dropped at a different location from the kidnapped passengers, who security men previously rescued.
In the same vein, all passengers abducted during a travel trip in the Niger State Transport Agency, NSTA, have also been released.
Twenty-one passengers of the state transport company, NSTA, were abducted at Kundu via Yakila in the state’s Rafi Local Government were released last week.
The State Governor, Abubakar Sani-Bello, had also secured the release of other ten abducted passengers.
Alhaji Mohammed Dani, Commissioner of Information and Strategy, had said that ten persons had been rescued using ‘multiple strategies used by the state government.
The Governor’s official Twitter handle finally confirms that all passengers of the NSTA have been released.
The tweet reads, “Breaking News: The Niger State Government has succeeded in securing the release of all Abducted #RescueNSTAPassengers. Details shortly.”
