Jangebe abduction: Nigerians’ll be shocked by those behind the attack – Matawalle

On Sunday, the Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, said he had some new revelation unknown to many about the attack on Government Girls’ Secondary School, Jangebe, on Friday, where more than 300 students were kidnapped.

The governor, who stated this when 17 Emirs within the state paid him a sympathy visit over the kidnapping of the schoolgirls, said Nigerians would be shocked to know the people behind the kidnapping that happened in the state.

Also, during the visit, the Emir of Anka and Chairman of Zamfara state Council of Chiefs Alhaji Attahiru Anka berated the President, Muhammadu Buhari, over the upsurge in killings and kidnappings by bandits within the country.

Recall that gunmen on Friday attacked GGSS Jangede and abducted over 300 girls; while seven of the women escaped while they were being taken into the bush, others were kept hostage in the bandit’s hideout.

The attack occurred almost a fortnight after bandits abducted 27 students and 15 workers of Government Science College, Kagara in Niger State.

Before the attack in Kagara, bandits had struck in Kundu village, also in Niger State, and abducted passengers of the state transport service bus.

Commenting on the rising insecurity within the country, the Emir of Anka blamed the Buhari’s-led administration.

He said, “The federal is in total control of the safety operatives within the country and not the state governors, intrinsically the President is the who has not to address the issue of insecurity in the country.”

In his response, Matawalle thanked the Emirs for the solidarity visit and guaranteed them that he wouldn’t abandon his peace accord with the bandits regardless of what the people would say.

He said, “As we await the arrival of the released kidnapped students of GSSS Jangebe at the govt House today, I would like to tell you that there are many revelations in reference to the kidnapping of those students.”
“Many people are going to be surprised to listen to those people behind the kidnapping of those innocent children.”

“They aren’t comfortable with the progress I’m getting as a result of my first step and that they want to try to do all they will to sabotage my efforts.”

“I will insha Allah succeed at the end of the day and that they will bury their faces in shame,” said the governor.
